Crytek and EA officially announced Crysis for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is expected to be released on the XBLA and PSN this October. Crysis is all set to flaunt new effects, lighting and other visual advancements exclusively for these consoles.
EA have also launched a press release informing the same, according to which fans can download an enhanced and modified edition of the much-famed single-player campaign presented by the first Crysis title, re-constructed for console players by employing Crytek’s sophisticated CryEngine 3, which infuses all kinds of exciting effects and lightning.

In 2007 and then in 2011, critics worldwide acclaimed the titles of Crysis and Crysis 2 which redefined the FPS genre with stunning visuals, pioneering sandbox gameplay and the most sophisticated technology, which features the supremely powerful Nanosuit.
This time around, the award-winning, original (2007 edition) single-player campaign has re-constructed for XBLA and PSN with carefully designed Nanosuit controls, complete 3D stereoscopic support and finely-tuned combat.
The CEO of Crytek, Cevat Yerli stated that they are very proud and delighted of what they were able to achieve with Crysis. He said that they had initially intended on creating a next-gen FPS and providing an ideal PC experience that eventually resulted in Crysis becoming a benchmark for gaming performance, even to date.
They believe that they are yet again paving a new standard in terms of quality by porting the popular titles for consoles like the PS3 and Xbox. As of 2011, the franchise comprises of two prime instalments, a compilation and a separate spinoff of the first edition with a standalone multiplayer title. Although more sequels are being intended, currently they are not in the development stage.
In Crysis, the gamers will have to travel to the year 2019 where a group of American scientists makes a startling finding on an island, situated in the South China Sea. When the Government of North Korean closes the area, all contacts with the team are lost. The US replies by sending out a special squad of Delta Force Operators.
As tension builds up between the nations, right in the middle of the island a gigantic alien ship unveils itself. With hope fading rapidly, the North Koreans and the US must combine forces to fight against the alien menace, indulging in epic battles through photorealistic and magnificent frozen landscapes and tropical jungles.
